This means you can now create and view Reels from the Facebook app, just like on Instagram. The update rolled out simultaneously to iOS and Android, so you should be able to get started right away.
Meta states in the news update : “ Watching video is half of time spent on Facebook and Instagram, and Reels is our fastest growing content format by far .”
Knowing that Facebook and Instagram users spend half their time on the platform watching videos, and that Reels is also the fastest growing content format on Instagram, rolling out Reels for Facebook is a logical choice.
Similar to Instagram Reels
Facebook Reels features are similar to Instagram Reels. For example, you can:
Add audio to your video. Facebook has created a mobile database dedicated music library for this purpose. You can also record your own audio and add it to the video, or use audio from another Reel to create your own.
Add AR effects .
Record your video using a timer and countdown , so you can film your Reel hands-free.
adjust the speed of your video.
put multiple videos from your own gallery together
Once you've finished and posted your Reel, you can find it via 'Watch' and in the 'feed'. You can also share your Reel in a Facebook Story. Meta is still working on adding the feature to simultaneously publish a Reel to both your Instagram and Facebook profiles.

Examples of Facebook Reels
Curious about what Reels will look like on the platform? Then take a look at the accounts of creator Kurt Tocci (and his cat), author Andrea Gibson , or the couple Ling and Lamb . Since Facebook Reels was already available in the US (September 2021), these accounts were able to get started right away.
Opportunities for creators
Along with the launch of Reels for Facebook, Meta also added several new features for creators. They aim to support the creation of new Reels by adding various monetization options. Meta has already announced its intention to invest $1 billion in this area over the past year. This applies to both Reels for Instagram and Facebook.
They also announced that various options for placing banner and sticker ads will be available. This is another way they hope to encourage creators to create more high-quality Reels for the platform.
